This month, at the time of recording, my business – Sweet Tea Social Marketing – is celebrating 7 years of business. How exciting! It’s honestly hard for me to believe and I am incredibly grateful for how God has guided me through these last seven years.
As I’ve sat back and reflected on my business I thought about the things that I would have built into my business from the beginning and I wanted to share those things with you today. And I want to speak directly to all the christian women leaders out there who feel overlooked and are trying to find their place. This episode is for you.
Seven Business Tips for Christian Women in Leadership:
- Collaborate more –> Collaboration over competition is a high value in the kingdom of God. My encouragement to you is to find those you already have connections with and pray about how you can show up more alongside them.
- Who can you elevate more –> Learning to celebrate others success and being an encouragement to others doesn’t always come naturally but I believe that we can’t do wrong with showing up and encouraging others who may be on a similar path as us.
- Lean into your feminine –> This one is all about showing up as US, our unique selves. It’s common knowledge than men have held the positions in leadership for many years. This has shifted and continues to change but many women feel they need to change how they are and who they are to fit into the spaces they feel called to. This is my encouragement to you to show up as you are – a woman – and bring to the table your unique gifts and strengths.
- Boldly dream –> believe that God can, and will, open crazy doors for you
- Just ask –> If you’re looking for something, just ask! If you need to hire someone, just ask! Don’t be afraid to ask for what you’re looking for; I promise it will make life easier!
- Find a mentor –> find someone who can bring their wisdom and years of experience and pour into you
- Be a mentor –> find someone who YOU can pour into and share your wisdom and experience with
