When I poll business owners and non-profit leaders, the number one thing at the top of every list that they need help with is making social media feel manageable in their business. Can you relate?

The honest truth is that you have to truly believe in the power of social media to be an asset in your business and you have to be willing to put in the time and effort needed. It's not a simple set it and forget it. You have to have the systems and processes in place for it to be a success.

I'm laying out some hard truths on today's podcast with 4 ways you have make social media more manageable for you.

  1. Shift your attitude : Change your thinking from “I can't do this or that” to ‘what can I do?' TIP: Pay attention to what other people are doing. Not for the sake of copying or doing exactly what they're doing, but looking at their content through the eyes of a consumer and asking yourself, ‘how can something similar work for me?'.
  2. Start where you : I have a couple of degrees. One of them is in special education and the other is in management and leadership. Neither of them is directly related to social media marketing. Why am I telling you this? Because you don't need a specialize degree to make this happen. Use what knowledge you have and learn along the way with resources you find.   3. Identify 2 business goals and tie social media into them : Want to gain more exposure as a brand? Use social media. Want to make more sales. Use social media. See that's easy!
  4. Spend 15 minutes a day on your social media : I am a big proponent for batch scheduling content on social media. But maybe the thought of sitting down and scheduling a month's worth of content feels VERY overwhelming. Here's a thought : try spending 15 minutes each day creating 1 post and engaging and interacting with clients and other brands. Doesn't that feel more manageable already?
