Podcast Episode #278: 4 Ways to Know You are Selling to the Wrong Audience in Your Marketing

Do you have the Wrong Audience in your Business?

You can have the offer, you can have the email list, the social media accounts and the website.

But what happens when you're not making any sales?

It's possible that you're speaking to the wrong audience or that you're speaking the wrong THINGS to the audience.

Here are 4 things to consider when it comes to marketing to the right audience :

  1. Speak to your audience's limiting beliefs, not your own : It's easy to project your own problems and pain points onto your audience. The issue is they may not have those same problems. If you've ever been in your audience's shoes, what hurdles did you have to overcome? If possible, the a poll and ask your audience specific questions that can help you better address their needs.
  2. Focus on problems your audience may not know they have : As I mentioned in number 1, of course, address your audience's obvious problems. And, dig a bit deeper. You can set yourself apart by answering the problems they don't even know they have.
  3. Failing to realize that your offer isn't attractive to your audience : it's one thing to have an offer. It's another to have an offer that is attractive to your audience. So what should you do when your audience doesn't seem to resonate with your offer? 1. Change your offer 2. change your audience. And when it say this, it could be a very subtle shift. Chances are you won't have to completely scrap everything and start from scratch.
  4. Resentment can come when your services/packages/products don't align with your gifts and talents : This is what we mean when we say stay in your lane. It's truly not worth trying to do something that you're not good at for the sake of money. It may work for awhile but that resentment will start to grow.

In all things we asking and inquiring of the Lord. Let him direct and guide you in your business. He genuinely cares about you and the things you do.
